Welcome to Lazy Goddess, a “weekly” newsletter that hits your inbox with a hefty dose of dopamine. I send you the best of items to make your day more organized, colorful, relaxing, connected, and/or delicious.
A year later and I’m back! I got married (perhaps a wedding-related buying guide is imminent — I was very happy with my bulk flip flop choices) and am nearly through the first trimester of my pregnancy. If I had a buying guide for the last few months, it would just have three things: 1) nugget ice, 2) diet coke, and 3) strong anti-nausea medication. But now that I have rejoined the living, here are some good ideas for your upcoming holiday gift buying needs!
(If you purchase an item through my affiliate link, I may receive a small commission. This does not affect the price you pay for the item.)
We millennials love our Apple Watches. If you are like me and coveted the $100 stretchy Apple band, here’s an excellent cheap dupe ($8). Much more comfortable than any other band I’ve owned!
Excellent gift for your friends who are 1) working from home, 2) anxious, 3) couch potatoes, 4) all of the above (me). A mini weighted blanket for your lap or feet. Perfect for lugging around your abode (big weighted blankets are heavy and hard to move).
Are we sensing a comfort theme here? If you like ice rolling, get headaches, and/or cry often, this is an excellent ice pack beanie. It lays super flat which means it doesn’t take up much freezer space, it gets really cold, and it’s super comfortable. You need it.
I am very particular about nail polish — after years of trial and error, my usual nail salon choice is OPI (it dries fastest and is least likely to chip). A brand I never see in salons but is all over Amazon is ILNP. They make the best chrome nail polish and it similarly dries quickly and doesn’t chip. The silver holographic color is by far my favorite.
I was SKEPTICAL about these. My mom told me about them and I rolled my eyes. I like using reusable washcloths to wash/dry my face and couldn’t imagine wanting to buy something to supplement that… however, before my wedding I decided to invest in a pack of these just to minimize risk of blemishes. I figured I’d never buy them again, but they are wonderful for traveling when you’re not sure about the washcloth situation where you’re going. They’re huge, so I can sometimes get two uses out of one, and you can compost them!
This Amazon brand is literally the same exact thing as Chilewich placemats (but much cheaper) and I absolutely love them.
I immediately had to copy a friend who wore these shoes all over San Diego when we visited over Labor Day. They are relatively inexpensive, come in super cute colors, and are ridiculously comfortable. Whenever I put them on, I wonder why I ever wear any other shoes.
Another pre-wedding mission: find a good lip oil. All the Dior Lip Oils were sold out, but after checking out a sample I was not impressed anyway — it was sticky. After searching high and low for a lip oil that actually felt like an oil, was thick, kept a shine, wasn’t sticky, and could be reapplied, this was by far the winner. I have the clear color so that I can apply it over any other lipstick color. It is the best and I worked hard to find it!
The adult version of our Limited Too body glitter days. This sunscreen is great for when you’re going to a wedding or party in the sun. It has a shimmer! I sometimes use half Glow Screen with half regular body sunscreen to make the shimmer a little more subtle.
That’s all for now!
